New York City Subway Art

This book is a personal project chronicling a collection of site-specific art in the New York City subway system, initiated by the MTA Arts for Transit program in an effort to make the subway more inviting, to bring art to the pubic, and to give each station a special character that offers an immediate identification. I was amazed by the breadth of art available—with the purchase of only a monthly Metro card, I gained access to one of the largest collections of contemporary public art in the world.

Task

Infuse subway riders with a fresh appreciation for the beauty that is sprinkled throughout the 468 stations

  • Role
